if you are wondering if it's weird to leave reread kudos/comments on an author's work, i have had a tough week health-wise (an unusually bad flare up as a result of a vaccine which, like, sucks much less than actually getting the thing but still hasn't been my favourite experience) and someone is currently rereading my heihua series and leaving little comments like "hi i'm rereading again and -" so i've been literally debating if it's weird for me to be like "hello dear commenter what's it like to be shouldering what's left of my faith in the universe" FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK.
so no, it's not weird. writers are simple creatures who love praise.
#people are there like “oh i don't know if you want to hear this again but -”#mon ami. mon cher. i ALWAYS want to hear this again.#i have a fragile writer's glass ego and i will never say no to it being gently cradled. do you understand me.#once again not saying the commenter's name bc i don't know if they'll even see this and i don't want to draw unwanted attention at them but#yeah#personal#also get vaccinated kids#just be prepared for your body if you have existing health issues to hate u a few days

#maybe im being pessimistic abt this. im not saying u should wear a mask every waking moment of your life god knows i cant#but also. hell no i dont trust u if anything i distrust u ppl even more after how things played out for the past 3 years#like there are situations where it might be inevitable catching covid. most of my family members are nurses and in constant contact#but there are also a ton of ways to make that risk low as possible like masking and wearing a face shield and having sanitizer#for me its not enough to just say oh we're in a small group and we're all vaccinated#motherfucker your kid is sick from preschool EVERY TIME WE VISIT. of course ill be wearing a mask she gave me covid last year#also no the fuck it isnt seasonal the cases go up because lack of caution makes the virus spread and mutate especially around times when#ppl gather. add that with virus transmission in cold weather and its a matter of different factors increasing the risk of spread#im also tired of ppl not understanding that i wont be their responsibility if i do get sick. maybe they can help me recover#but at the end of the day the risk of death and long term health is all on me. i cant change that#the govt barely gives me accommodations what makes u think theyll do anything for every individual case of long covid or worse#im so tired. im so tired#i dont even know if its possible to want this to be over anymore i just wish we didnt have to deal with this in the first place#ALSO COUGH INTO YOUR SLEEVE SERIOUSLY HOW IS THIS SO HARD TO REMEMBER#oh its just a cold/dry throat its not like i have covid or anything. no!! its basic hygiene!!! how is this so hard to understand!!!!!!!!!!#and no this isnt abt whether people have the means to protect themselves this is me bitching abt my relatives not taking me seriously#vent#my art#myart#doodles#covid 19

I am so tired of people being like if you think Milsiril is a toxic mom you're an IDIOT!! Like you people really have no idea how damaging it can be to grow up with parents who infantalize you huh.
#saying this as an autistic adult who has an allistic mother who constantly says i'm not a 'real' adult (her words)#and as a person whose mother used infantalization as a means of denying me bodily autonomy many times#(including hrt and vaccination)#plus otta saying that milsiril treats the kids she adopts as her pets and not her kids#and the inherent eyebrow-raising aspect of her being the former vice commander of the canaries#who adopts the lone surviving child of the tragedy that they arguably helped to cause#and also the transracial aspect therein#(white people causing tragedy to nonwhite communities and yoinking their surviving kids)#not to say i think she's Evil though. yall get it#milsiril#kabru#dungeon meshi#azure does a thing

This is a start, anyway. Lots of research and work ahead.
#still unsure what i can do when adhd brain doesnt let me do my hobbies in the little free time i have#but in the other hand if i can be sure that if i got a health insurance plan thru the ACA on the state market#that it would still cover me even if the ACA gets slashed - including thru the following enrollment period (that they wont be able to drop#me due to 'preexisting condition'. then i can leave my job and have a lot more time to be active and involved with this stuff.)#like I'm gonna do what i can anywY and I'm not gonna assume i cant do anything bc i have a strong motivation w this so adhd brain might be#chill w letting me do something#it feels like theres no time left tho but I'm trying to ignore that#but i just got my work schedule for Thanksgiving week and between the wk before and wk of I'm working 7 days straight. bc I'm dumb and#volunteered to be the one to work on Thanksgiving Day (why. bc i didnt want to make the 60+ yr old do 7+ days in a row or the 20-yr old.)#(shouldve asked if the kid was willing tho tbh. I'm gonna be burned tf out so badly.)#and i shouldve asked for the rest of the week off tbh but only got the 29th and 30th off. boo.#anyway abd then its december and we're gonna be busy busy with stupid Xmas stuff plants decor etc...#I'm just. worried I'll blink and itll be january.#but lets try lets do..something somehow#id like to find a way to squeeze the eye dr. vaccines. and dental extractions and healing time in before January#as well as getting involved in this stuff#and trying to overcome my intense social anxiety to do so#and looking into health insurance stuff#and RESTING too. need to do that. somehow.#but my whole November is booked now bc of work.#id love a 4 day workweek instead of 5 at least tbh but cant be floral specialist if I'm not full time amd cant stay on the insurance thru#work if I'm not fulltime either#and somehwere in the midst is...thanksgiving hah. and hanukkah which is Very important especially noe#now*#one story of hanukkah is of a small group fighting back against oppressors and succeeding#so.#idk where I'm going with this. but this day off is half over and.. i did this list thing yesterday actually but added to it today.#today ive also...devoured all current pages of a miraculous ladybug fancomic. put up one load of laundry. and opened the door#dor some fresh air and commection grounding etc..#i should call the eye dr guy so i can get a basic eye exam sooner than later and get new lenses ordered bc my glasses are at least 2 yrs ood

just saw the world's Take Of All Time:
"calling something 'illegal code' makes you sound like a cop."
it was a conversation about ransomware.
i work for a medical research lab. ransomware took out our servers for more than two weeks while we were working on the covid vaccine. crunch the math on how many people die of covid each day and then look me in the eye and say that hacking can't be a violent act.
#i've also heard more than a few stories of hospital records being ransomed#we're talking people couldn't get fucking chemotherapy while this was happening#PEOPLE DIED KAREN#kids missed normal vaccines#chronically ill people missed appointments#real human harm is done by this shit. you can't pretend this only affects grandma's laptop#newsflash: grannies who click suspicious links are your coworkers#some of them have access to your unencrypted social security number in the HR department right now

i fully attribute me never catching covid to the fact that i regularly drank from a garden hose and ate freshly fallen snow off of my roof in one of the dirtiest cities in the country as a young child
#also the sheer amount of mold and carbon monoxide exposure that i experienced as a kid#my system is simply#I'm an avenger. tbh#(this is a joke)#(wear a mask)#(get vaccinated)

not to be a country folk on main but.... when in doubt slap some raw potato on it!
i have and abscess on my stomach an very time my shorts move its hell. i've tried antibiotic ointment and drawing salve and acetaminophen and NOTHING
my bff was like oh just put some potato on in it!
and i'm like 🤔why didn't i think of that??? (but i'm so wrapped up in school work now i forgot the very existence and cold and hot compresses 👀)
anyway grated a potato up and as soon as the juices touched my skin it was sweet relief
(also helps on cuts and scrapes) :)
#highly recommend drawing salve from native american sellers or even amish sellers#it usually works wonders!#also just so everyone is clear i'm a firm believer in modern and herbal medicines#sometimes you need antibiotics/sometimes on a lot of the minor things you need to slap some herbs on it#BUT make sure you go to a practitioner who knows what they are doing!#also know the limits#we need both modern medicine and herbal medicine#also get vaccinated and vaccinate your kids!#end of tangent lol#what should i tag abscesses as?#cw abscess#cw injury#?

do anti vaxers really genuinely believe vaccines are bad,,,,or do they have some kinda weird agenda they're trying to spread? because they act like a cult that rather their kids die of preventable diseases than do something their cult disapproves of.
because vaccines are government stuff! don't listen to government! listen to us! let us brainwash you instead! if your kid survives those diseases they will become one of us!!
that's what they sound like to me.
#if kids wouldn't suffer and die id wish all anti vax kids get these diseases to teach these parents a lesson. but kids dont deserve that#but the reality is these kids are getting and spreading these diseases and the parents dont care#sighs. some people make no sense and are very ridiculous. stop letting your kids spread horrible diseases!#why dont you all go live on a small island and make your own rules and leave us out of it!#also i still cant believe people are trying to convince everyone vaccines make autism#but thats another rant#but in short. the fact that parents think being autistic is worse than a permanently damaging disease or even death is disgusting#lee rambles

prof said congrats for writing up a proposal so early i am going to get a good grade in. well this is literally going to be graded. but yk the meme
#i really hope its decent proposals are really hard for me to write. i never really understand how much im supposed to say#also i dont plan stuff in advance! i hate drafts and proposals why cant i just jump in and run w my topic#i dont Know exactly what im going to cover just yet can i get back to you once ive covered it#levi.txt#i spent One page just opening the two page proposal so. i know it needs some cleaning up#but the last time i wrote one of these i only got a 75 (not a bad grade but i could do significantly better) bc. and i am not kidding.#i wrote a several page intro abt the themes of a story i was super pumped to write. and forgot the /plot characters and title/#a 75 was honestly generous. that prof already liked me and knew my work so i got very lucky#also i just think the guy im working with for my essay is so cool and i want to impress him bfhshsk#ive taken 2 classes with him before he is so smart and so enthusiastic. i was 1 of only 3 who was there for every class both times#everyone whos helped me has been so cool and very nice to me i want to do a good job and prove that im as capable as they think#and also jesus fucking christ ive worked so hard for this degree PLEASE#if i dont get honours im walking into the forest laying down and letting the fae take me as they will#side note: i have 1.5 movies left (its late and im finishing army of the dead tomorrow + watching evil dead rise)!! thats so exciting#theyve (mostly) been really fun and i feel like i have a really good general idea of where im going w my essay now#the movie eras are starting to kind of organize themselves into coherent themes in my mind#i think its smth along the lines of racism/xenophobia -> social change -> satanic panic -> action and militarism -> prejudice/bias#and i actually think were in smth of a thematic reckoning w zombies rn as a culture that im excited to discuss!!#for so long weve accepted that zombies arent people but weve really been starting to interrogate that since abt the mid 2010s#w tropes like searching for a cure (not just a vaccine) or movies like warm bodies or evil dead where you can truly turn back#and im really excited to see where the future takes the zombie genre!!

its actually nuts how missing a single vaccination has shaped my entire fucking life. like not only would I not be deaf if I had gotten it on time but I probs wouldn't have adhd either 🫣
#like yeah I have a family history of adhd but im pretty sure the current model suggests u can be genetically *predisposed* but the actual-#development of adhd is thought to be closely linked to environmental 'triggers' like childhood stress or head injuries lol#or in my case brain trauma. fun fact: a suspected 62% of kids who survive hib meningitis later develop adhd symptoms#vs. 5% incidence in the general population.....#when I first heard that I was still in denial bc i thought of adhd as a 'natural' condition like ur just born that way#so if meningitis survivors displayed symptoms that didnt mean they were ACTUALLY adhd. except literally all adhd is-#is a collection of symptoms its not some tangible 'switch' thats flipped in some ppl and not others. maybe thats a rly obvious statement-#but I found it kinda hard to get my head around. i guess just bc of how a lot of psychology is viewed by the public innit#anyway being deaf + nd kinda fucking sucks yall better be jabbing ur babies with every vaccination possible or im coming for ur knees#its funny bc it sounds like im saying watch out !! vaccination may PREVENT neurodivergence NOT cause it !!#*andrew wakefield voice* u wouldnt want a child with autism#but thats not what i meaaaannn obvs ur kid not getting xyz disease that could kill them is the number 1 most important thing#its so cringe actually bc hib b incidence has been down to abt 2 in every 100 000 babies since the vax was introduced in 1985#so I was one of like. probably less than 10 babies to get it in the fucking country and they misdiagnosed me a bunch of times#bc it was so uncommon + I had some rarer symptoms plus the only way to actually CHECK is to test spinal fluid which is a faff#if theyd realised earlier then i also wouldnt be deaf bc it wouldnt have been as severe. just a series of unfortunate events i guess#anyway. immunology is so fascinating i wish id focused on it more in my degree tbh#over and OUT#.diaries

wondering if there any literature or media or articles or just ANYTHING about finding love to be terrifying to a cosmic horror degree
#like not relating to aromanticism#I’m talking within the realm of phobia#and love is all encompassing like all of it. every form#I don’t know what love means#and my reaction to the idea of love is pretty disturbing it’s like a deep well of terror and anxiety overwhelms me#not unlike a kid going to the doctor knowing they have to get 20 vaccines in one go#so I’m just like…I can’t be the only human ever to experience this#but I feel like text about it is definitely fewer than text about yknow#wanting love or experiencing love or basking in love#or even text about aromanticism and asexuality feel like it’d exist more than whatever tf I’m going on about#I also just want to get these thoughts out of my head for a second#astricast

i think semi frequently about how my siblings are all between 16-32 years older than me and i only really talk to one of them and eventually if nothing takes me out first due to the passage of time and mortality it will just be me and my nieces and nephews some of whom are older than me . 🧍🏻
#i don't even have some of their phone numbers and my oldest sister didn't invite me to her wedding a couple years ago even though i was#in the state. nothing negative has actually happened but the age gap is so big and weird and my mom didn't like hanging out with them when#i was a kid so i've just barely ever known any of them . last time i saw any of them besides my youngest brother was i think 2019 ?#maybe earlier ? thank you parents for creating this very fucked up dynamic and foisting it upon me i do resent being born#and the youngest brother has turned into a fucking upper middle class elon musk stan and also they were going to try to make me work retail#in the pandemic before vaccines and also he and his wife enjoy playing mind games with me until i start crying so it's not like i am trying#to spend extra time around this guy generally#whatever i need an income so i can get a real therapist...clearly....in the meantime i will overshare on tumblr dot gov. thank you everyone#me

wait, Derin how did your leaving make the hospital shut down?
I used to work as a live-in nanny for a pediatrician.
Now, the thing about hospitals in my country is that they are massively understaffed and massively underfunded. This is especially true outside the major cities. The staff are worked to the bone and receive little to no help in things like finding accommodation or childcare, making working in rural areas a very uninviting prospect; staff come out here, get lumped with the work of three people (because there's nobody else to do it), burn out under the workload and leave, meaning that those remaining have even more work because that person is gone. It's unsustainable and the medical staff are doing their best to sustain it, because people die if they don't, so to the higher-ups it looks like everything's getting done and therefore everything is fine.
My friend (and boss) worked one week on, one week off, swapping out with another pediatrician. This was necessary because it would not be physically possible for one person to handle the workload for longer periods of time. The one single pediatrician had to hold up the entire pediatrics ward, which was not only the only public hospital pediatrics ward in our town, but also the one that served all the towns around us for a few hours' drive in all directions. I regularly saw her go to work sick, aching, tired, or with a debilitating 'I can barely make words or see' level migraine, because if she took a day off, twenty children didn't get healthcare that day, and some of these kids' appointments were scheduled weeks in advance. She'd work long hours in the day and then be called in a couple of times overnight for an hour or two at a time (she was on-call at night too, because somebody had to be), and then go in the next day. Sometimes she would be forced to take a day off because she physically could not stay awake for longer than a few minutes at a time, meaning she couldn't drive to work.
Cue my niece's second birthday coming up in Melbourne. I'd been working for her for about 3 years, and she (and the hospital) had plenty of advance warning that I (and therefore she) needed one (1) Friday off. That's fine, we'll find someone to work that Friday, the hospital said. Right up until the last week where they're like "oh, we can't find a replacement; you can come in, can't you?"
No, she tells them; I don't have anyone to watch my kid that day.
Oh, surely you can hire a babysitter for this one day, they say. Think of the children! We really really need you to work that day. I know we said it'd be fine but we need you now, there's no one else to do it.
There are no other babysitters, she told them. Unless you can find one?
That's not our responsibility, they said.
But I'm not changing my plans, she's got plans by now as well, the hospital knew about this one day weeks in advance, and with absolutely no reserve staff they're forced to reschedule all pediatrics appointments for that Friday. Not a huge deal, it happens on the 'physically too overworked to get out of bed' days too. I go to Melbourne, she goes back to her home in Adelaide for her recovery week, all should be on track.
My niece gives me Covid.
This was way back in the first wave of the pandemic, and there were no Covid vaccines yet. The rules were isolate, mask up, hope. I had Covid in the house, and it would've been madness for my friend and her toddler to come back into the Covid house instead of staying in Adelaide. There was absolutely no way that a pediatrician could live with someone in quarantine due to Covid and go to work in the hospital with sick children every day. And no support existed for finding another babysitter, or temporary accommodation, so the hospital was down a pediatrician.
The other pediatrician wasn't available to do a three-week stint. They were also trapped in Adelaide on their well-earned week off.
Meaning that the only major pediatrics ward within a several-hour radius had no pediatricians. They had to shut down and send all urgent cases to Adelaide for the week. To the complete absence of surprise of any of the doctors or nurses; of course this would happen, this was bound to happen, it presumably keeps happening. But probably to the surprise of the higher-ups. After all, the hospital was doing fine, right? Of course all the staff were complaining of overwork and a lack of resources in every meeting, but they could always be fobbed off with the promise of more help sometime in the future; the work was mostly getting done, so the issue couldn't be too urgent.
It's not like some nanny who doesn't even work for the hospital could go out of town for a weekend for the first time in three years, and get the only public pediatrics ward in the area shut down for a week.

Quick question: in your blueprint for an ideal world, where are the disabled people? Are they left to die, or expected to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and push through the disability? Will you disregard the disabled people who need medication as ‘addicts’ and therefore deserving of suffering? Will you decide that people with incurable disabilities are “doomed anyways so who cares what happens to them”? Are people with embarrassing disabilities treated with respect? Will disabled people who have trouble with hygiene or cooking be accommodated for? Will public spaces be accessible to disabled people, or is it convenient that the architecture means you don’t have to see or think about them?
Remember that in any society there will always be disabled people and you have to think of them if you’re creating the blueprint for a new, ideal, equal one.
#so crazy seeing people decide that like. finite resources should only be used when ‘strictly necessary’ and we don’t need phones or whatever#like ok. is it ‘strictly necessary’ to have the equipment to make medicine? is it ‘strictly necessary’ to have some means of instant#communication so ‘strictly necessary’ vehicles (like a *gasp* helicopter!) to quickly transport dying people to places with adequate#healthcare. are asthma inhalers ‘strictly necessary’? are glasses? is insulin?#what about vaccination? is it ‘strictly necessary’ for an abled person to get vaccinated?#also there’s the whole Pandora’s box of what is ‘strictly necessary’? because that sounds like ‘who is disabled enough’ to me#and I mean. as I said I don’t think that the exclusion of disabled people is intentional and malicious. but I do think it’s gravely naive#we as a society have forgotten how much people died in the past! it used to be something special if a kid made it to five!#do you really want to go back to that? do you want to deal with the trauma of watching your little sibling die of an asthma attack? or your#parent dying of an infection? can you watch them die in pain? wouldn’t it be nice to at least give them a pain relief?#but pain relief isn’t ’strictly necessary’ so fuck your dying relatives
